Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I am so blessed that in California this time of year, all of the hills are covered with green. Everywhere you look is stunning shades of emerald and chartreuse. Then with the little bit of added heat that hints spring is on its way, bright yellow flowers start blooming everywhere. It is hard not be enchanted by our local flora palette.

Add in the fact that St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and I am in the mood for all things Irish.

I can’t imagine anything more appealing right now than a quaint Irish cottage with a fire burning and a bundle of thick wool waiting to be knitted.

Nothing satisfy’s this urge better than flipping through images from people fortunate to have visited such a lovely place. I love seeing Ireland through Sue’s lens over at 129twigandvine. You must go check out her photos.

So as I go to daydream of Ireland, I leave you with this:

“Wishing you always,
walls for the wind, and a roof for the rain,
tea beside the fire, and the love and laughter of those you hold dear.”
-old celtic saying

  1. Oh you are too kind. Thanks for sharing and painting the picture of your greening hills in California! The only green here is moss atop rocks on the south sides of woodland slopes. I’ll take what I can get. And soon, Ireland. Warmly, Sue

I always think of how Ireland must look when our California hills are so green and there are some hillsides with the rocks strewn throughout. Love it! Someday maybe we’ll get to visit there!
